The month of September is exciting for every student. Why you ask? It is because every year, on the 5th of this month, we celebrate Teacher’s Day! This is a day when students go all out, just to show gratitude to their favourite teacher or the teacher who has inspired them in school/college. Teacher’s teach us what others don’t! They make learning, an ongoing process and in all honesty, we continue on that path even as adults. The excitement of learning a new skill, attempting something out of your comfort zone and understanding your true potential; begins at the school level.
A teacher’s role in our lives has a lot of impact as they teach us some very basic life lessons which have subconsciously stayed with us all through our formative years and into adulthood. On this Teacher’s Day, we want to send out gentle reminders of some of these lessons to you. This is especially because it still adds value to our lives even today. So let us look at how these lessons can change the game at work and what we can take back from them.
5 Teacher’s Day notes you must take down now
Believe in your potential
A teacher takes pride in her work, especially when her student shows remarkable growth throughout the year. For a student to excel, it takes effort, dedication and hard work from all sides. By believing in your potential, you can achieve what you’re aiming for easily. Similarly, in your professional life, you need to give yourself credit for the kind of hard work you put in and results will come to you. For example, if you’re working from home these days, you should push yourself to meet targets that you might otherwise find difficult to achieve. This teacher’s day, let’s aim on doing this.
Learn everything there is to your field
Broaden your outlook, be open to learning and criticism and be the best version of yourself in the field that you pick. If you’re doing something as enterprising as say Online Reselling, you should get into each and every aspect of it. Research, review, trial and error and find your way. In fact, you can explore all there is to Online reselling on the popular reselling platform, Shop101. It gives you space to grow professionally, individually and within the reselling community as well.
Learn to take risks
Sometimes playing it too safe itself is risky. So it is sort of better to take a little bit of a risk when it comes to starting from scratch, running a business online or just with basic financial decisions as well. Risk doesn’t necessarily mean monetarily. It can also be the kind of niche you want to tap into or in the case of an online reselling business, the kind of product you’re rooting for and so on. Although in the field of reselling, especially with Shop101, it is in fact a risk-free setup which has zero investments involved. There is however, risks involved when choosing your products, the decisions you take regarding your store, when and how to launch a product etc.
Bring back creativity
Try to mix things up a little. Explore your creative side when you’re working and you’re never going to work a day! You will only have fun creating, having fun and positively impacting yourself and the company you work for. As students, our creativity was never limited, only encouraged. As adults, we restrict ourselves because of several factors. But, this teacher’s day, let’s vow to do otherwise and look at work from a more fun angle.
Good Communication is Everything
From oral recitations in school, we learn the importance of communicating clearly; not just in words but our body language as well. This goes a long way and jumping straight to job interviews; a recruiter assesses you a lot based on your communication skills. No learning in school ever goes to waste and this in particular won’t. Always communicate clearly to your clients/customers, keep it concise and transparent so as to build their trust.
So, we hope we were successful in reiterating these lessons and here’s wishing each one of you a very Happy Teacher’s Day! May the teacher in you continue to teach, inspire and impart knowledge to everyone around you.
